VINIYOGA OR HOW TO HEAL THE MIND: PRATIPAKSHA-BHÂVANA AND VRATA

PRÂNÂYÂMA: THE USE OF MANTRA

Prânâyâma can be accompanied by mental recitation. Then it is called samantraka prânâyâma. Once the respiratory technique is integrated, we can add mantra to different respiratory phases, which become subordinated to the recitation. The presence of audible or inner words gives rhythm to the breath, provides alertness, and gives particular quality to the practice, which then supports and expresses the inner life.

YOGA-SÛTRA I.33

Here Patanjali presents a very special aphorism. It is about the relationship of the yogi with society, and it is not presented as an “option”. It is the first “eka-tattva”.

Here is the solution for the puzzle of sequence 2, which was presented in Viniyoga Europe 14. We include the structured sequence from the Viniyoga point of view, its justification and a brief analysis of it.
