DHANURÂSANA AND ARDHA DHANURÂSANA

The Bow Pose is one of the back bending postures that attracts many practitioners. In order to master it, you need a flexible, solid body. Its action is very invigorating, especially at the digestive level. It presents several applications, but it is not devoid of risks.

SEQUENCES: DHANURÂSANA AND ARDHA DHANURÂSANA

Here we present two sequences, which were designed with these two concepts in mind. They have different contexts and objectives. Sequence 1 contains an exercise with the Half Bow Pose combined with the Half Locust Pose. In sequence 2, we present the complete Bow Pose as the central exercise. We give you a table showing a progression (vinyâsa-krama) for each of these two postures.

YOGA DURING PREGNANCY

Yoga for pregnant women is very specific, due to the physical and psychological limitations that are produced by pregnancy. For most pregnant women this is also their first contact with yoga. Their primary motivation comes from their state. The teaching of yoga should be adapted to this reality.

YOGA-SÛTRA I.38

Making one’s breathing longer, reflecting on the functioning of the sensory organs, visualizing the inner light and remembering a sage, a sanctified object or place are the first means that Patanjali suggests to reestablish stability. Here he suggests a supplementary alternative, which is addressing sleep and dreams.
