SHALABHÂSANA
Shalabhâsana, or the Locust Pose, is a prestigious posture. It is a test of vitality and endurance, offers many applications with different intensities, and has a remarkable effect on health. The Half Locust Pose is easier to do and is of particular interest.
By Claude Maréchal

SEQUENCES: SHALABHÂSANA

SEQUENCE OF ÂSANA: TIME, DURATION AND FUNCTION
Time, duration and content of a sequence are the parameters that produce its effects.
This theme is illustrated with a long sequence, from which it is easy to construct other sequences with average and short durations.
By Claude Maréchal, with the collaboration of Sylviane Gianina

VINIYOGA OR HOW TO HEAL THE MIND: ÎSHVARA- PRANIDHÂNA
Devotion (Îshvara-pranidhâna) is the best means to achieve liberation. However it is equally a precious aid to defeat disease and other obstacles. These aspects are exposed in Yoga-Sûtra and the Bhagavad-Gîtâ well. It is possible to apply them in a non-Hindu context.

YOGA-SÛTRA (I.36)
Patanjali has already given us several means to reduce our symptoms of mental agitation: adaptation of social behavior, increase of the duration of our breathing, especially of our exhalations, and the inquiry on our sensory organs.
Now he shows another important field of investigation, which is focusing our mind on our inner light. This allows us to transcend all difficulties.
